In-situ road stabilisation on the Central Coast
In-situ stabilisation and road rehabilitation for Central Coast roads, delivered by one crew on one contract.
The Region
The Central Coast sits straight down the M1 from Accurate's depot at Redhead, and it has been one of the business's core regions alongside the Hunter and Mid North Coast since the early years.
A stabilisation crew mobilises with everything it needs, stabiliser, spreader, water cart and rollers, and the material for the job is already in the road.
For Central Coast Council that means a contractor that arrives as a complete unit, works the job through, and leaves, without the convoy of tippers a dig-out needs on roads that were never built for them.
Accurate holds Local Government Procurement approval, through which the council can engage without a separate tender for works within the panel's scope.
Cost efficiency
Same ground. Lower costs.
In-situ stabilisation reuses the material already in the ground, so there is no new material to import and no spoil to cart away. Less transport, less handling and a single mobilisation of plant make it a faster, more cost-effective way to rebuild a road.
Traditional approach
More transport. Higher costs. Longer program.

Import material
New gravel carted in from the quarry, load by load.

Export waste
The old pavement dug out and trucked away as spoil.

More plant and labour
Extra trucks, excavators and crew on site for longer.

Increased costs
Haulage, tipping and program time all add to the price.
In-situ stabilisation
Less movement. A smarter solution.

Reuse existing material
Stabilise on site, with nothing imported and nothing carted away.
Lower transport costs
Fewer truck movements, less haulage and less disruption to traffic.
Faster delivery
One pass of the recycler, compacted and back under traffic sooner.
Local experience
Built for Central Coast conditions.
Central Coast pavements range from sandy coastal ground around the lakes and beaches to clay country on the hinterland roads. Low-lying sections hold water in a wet season, and a pavement over a soft, wet subgrade fails from the bottom up no matter what the surface looks like. The treatment follows the ground. On sandy material, cement or slag/lime binders give a granular base the cohesion it lacks. Where the subgrade is wet or reactive, lime treatment comes first, to dry and de-plasticise it, before the base is bound above.

- Road rehabilitationWhole-of-pavement road rehabilitation for councils and TfNSW. Assessment, in-situ stabilisation and surfacing under one contract. Hunter to Mid North Coast.
Pavement works
- Deep-lift heavy patchingFailed pavement sections rebuilt in place to 300mm and beyond, not skinned over. Heavy patching for councils and TfNSW across regional NSW.
- Sub-grade lime stabilisationLime stabilisation for wet, reactive or clay subgrades. Dries the ground, cuts plasticity, builds a platform that lasts. Hydrated lime, regional NSW.
Integrated delivery
- Shoulder stabilisationRoad shoulder stabilisation and widening for councils and TfNSW. Strengthen the edge that fails first. Regional NSW.
- Asphalt surfacingThe wearing course that completes a stabilisation job, laid by the same crew on the same contract. A2 prequalified asphalt surfacing across regional NSW.

FAQs / Central Coast
Common questions.
01What is in-situ stabilisation?
It strengthens a road by mixing binders into the existing pavement material in place, rather than digging it out and replacing it. The result is a stronger, longer-lasting pavement built from the material already on site.
02When is in-situ stabilisation the right solution?
When the material in the road is worth reusing. Test pits or cores establish what is there; if the failure is in strength or moisture rather than missing material, stabilisation rebuilds the road in place.
03Do you work with councils and government contracts?
Yes. Accurate is a Local Government Procurement approved contractor and is Transport for NSW prequalified across Z1, A2, R2 and F2.
04How long does the process take?
Far less time than dig-out reconstruction. The recycler works the road in place, compaction follows the same day, and the road carries traffic again sooner.
05How far is the Central Coast from your depot?
Straight down the M1 from Redhead. A crew arrives as a complete unit, works the job through and leaves.
