Transport for NSW

Prequalified across the state network.

Prequalified with Transport for NSW since 2014, Accurate delivers stabilisation on state roads and major projects, directly and as a specialist subcontractor to head contractors. The same registrations, systems and owned plant answer what NSW Public Works and council-procured pavement programmes ask for, including flood and disaster recovery work.

The Sector

Together they mean eligibility across the full scope of state pavement work.

Z1 is the top-tier stabilisation registration and is held by a small number of contractors in NSW. Accurate has been prequalified with RMS, now Transport for NSW, since 2014.

This page is for the TfNSW project manager, the tier-one head contractor's procurement lead, and anyone scoping stabilisation on a state road or major infrastructure project.

The Murrurundi job

This is the project that put Accurate on the state map.

Two sections of the New England Highway near Murrurundi, 40,800m² in total, for Roads and Maritime Services. Full-service in-situ stabilisation to a heavily bound standard of UCS above 4 MPa, meeting the R75 ride requirements.

The programme was six weeks. Accurate pre-milled the pavement with a 120-tonne surface miner, the first time the method had been used in the industry, and delivered it in about two. On a live highway, that's four fewer weeks of traffic management, lane closures and disruption. Contract value: $1.3 million.

It's the job that shows what the Z1 registration means in practice: the plant, the method, the specification, and the programme, on a state road.

Panel positions

Accurate held a position on the RMS four-year panel as the only private company.

On major projects

    The top-tier stabilisation registration.

  • Owned plant

Stabilisers, spreaders, water carts and rollers.

  • Systems that align

    ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, Cm3 and BNG Conserve.

Local presence

The pipeline in Accurate's regions

Forward demand for state pavement work in the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast is funded and visible: the Central Coast Roads Package, betterment and resilience upgrades across the Hunter, and the civil and access works from the Hunter–Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone. For a prequalified regional contractor with plant an hour away, that's work within reach.

Cost efficiency

Same ground. Lower costs.

In-situ stabilisation reuses the material already in the ground, so there is no new material to import and no spoil to cart away. Less transport, less handling and a single mobilisation of plant make it a faster, more cost-effective way to rebuild a road.

Traditional approach

More transport. Higher costs. Longer program.

  • Import material

New gravel carted in from the quarry, load by load.

  • Export waste

The old pavement dug out and trucked away as spoil.

  • More plant and labour

Extra trucks, excavators and crew on site for longer.

  • Increased costs

Haulage, tipping and program time all add to the price.

In-situ stabilisation

Less movement. A smarter solution.

Wirtgen WR 2400 recycler reworking the existing pavement in place
  • Reuse existing material

Stabilise on site, with nothing imported and nothing carted away.

  • Lower transport costs

Fewer truck movements, less haulage and less disruption to traffic.

  • Faster delivery

One pass of the recycler, compacted and back under traffic sooner.
